Staff Training

Here at Stone House we are proud of the fact our staff have studied for and hold NVQ Certificates in care or an equivalent.

Most of the staff have certificates in first aid, and all caring staff members have attended safer handling courses. Other courses are taken regularly to enable staff to be proficient in all aspects of care. Our cooks and kitchen assistants each hold food hygiene certificates. All staff on a regular basis attend fire safety training from an outside fire safety training company and receive refresher courses regularly and hold certificates regarding fire safety.

Senior staff at Stone House receive further training as and when required, eg. dementia courses, medicine handling etc.

We consider staff training and staff morale is a very important part in running a good care home. The proprietors and registered manager recognize the benefits of having quality staff with qualifications to help maintain the very high standards of care that all residents are entitled to and enjoy.

All our staff are paid excellent rates of pay, well above the minimum wage which allows us to keep and mantain a steady work force.
