Warm, Comfortable and Furnished To A Very High Standard

A 24 hour service is provided.

Residents have a choice of one of 35 well-appointed single rooms, all of which have en-suite toilet facilities. There are a main bathrooms and 1 shower room for use by Residents. In the main bathroom we have a technically superior Hydrotherapy Bath, which is fully automated. This bath can be hydraulically raised or lowered to meet an individual’s needs. A hydraulic bath hoist is provided in the second bathroom. All bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a very high standard, and Residents may bring in favourite items as far as space permits. 4 lounges, dining rooms and a hairdressing salon/treatment room are provided for Residents use, as well as a paved courtyard area with a large sun awning and patio tables, chairs and parasols, and a larger paved and landscaped sun terrace, again with patio furniture and parasols. Televisions are situated in the lounges, and each bedroom has it’s own flat screen TV included.

The Home’s environment is warm and comfortable and furnished to a very high standard with the needs of the Residents in mind, and the activities in the Home will sustain the quality of life of the Residents.

A laundry service is provided on the premises. You are advised to mark any clothing so that our staff can identify articles.

We have recently upgraded to a new a wired call system and more displays have been installed all over the home so that staff can respond quickly to each call also a data package has been installed to enable recording of calls.

A hydraulic passenger lift is installed for use by Residents who have difficulty using stairs. For added safety, all rooms are fitted with smoke de-tectors, although Residents and their guests are not allowed to smoke in their bedrooms. We have a “No Smoking” policy at Stone House.

Visitors will be made welcome at all reasonable times. Please ensure that members of staff are aware of your visits by signing the “Visitors Book” in the front hall. For safety reasons staff must be informed when a Resident is taken out by family or friends. Visitors may dine with Res-idents. A variety of good fresh food is always available, along with fresh fruit which Residents may help themselves to as they wish, from the re-frigerated cabinet in the dining area. Also available are cordial drinks. We also have a drinks cabinet, stocked by Stone House, and free for the Residents. Special diets can be provided, under medical supervision where necessary.

Stone House is registered with local GP practices and their staff visit on a regular basis. District nurses also visit as and when necessary. Dental, Optical, Chiropody and other services can also be arranged, any charges to be paid by the Resident.

Within 200 yards or so of Stone House there is a Community Shopping area comprising a variety of outlets such as mini-supermarkets, chemist, butcher, sandwich bar/deli, 3 men’s and 1 ladies hairdressers, cafes, newsagents, bookmakers, pizza takeaway, fish and chip shop, and 2 public houses. We are less than 1 mile from the Chester City centre, and about a mile from the famous Roodee racecourse (the oldest regularly-used racecourse in the country) where there are several race meetings each year, as well as hosting a variety of special events. We also have, in Chester one of the finest public parks, Grosvenor Park, which is very close to the City centre. The River Dee runs through Chester and the Groves, just beyond the park, is an area on the riverbank which is very popular with local people and visitors alike.

Local transport and dial-a-ride services can be arranged to take Resi-dents on available trips. Stone House has it’s own car park with ample room for visitors’ cars , and wheelchair access is available via the court-yard area as well as through the main entrance via the car park.
